The Prisons, linked to the Doge's Palace by the bridge of Sighs is teh opera of the architect Antonio da Ponte; the building was destined to substitute partially the cells of Doge's Palace.
Since 1922 The Prisons of doge's Palace are the headquarters of the prestigious "Artistic Circle" of Venice by the will of the Prince Umberto of Savoia and some of the most important musicians played there, like Senio Alirio Diaz (guitar player), Narciso Yepes (guitar player), Claudio Scimone (harpsichord player), Jean Pierre Rampal (flute player), Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli (piano player), Lazar Berman (piano player), Salvatore Accardo (violin player).
Every year The "Artistic Circle of Venice" puts on exhibitions and other artistic displays which are of public demand like "Biennale di Arte e di Architettura Moderna di Venezia" and it's possible to visit it before the concert.
